Have a Fling with Football


Objective:
Hyundai ‘s goal was to get an AFl, NRL, & Cricket
loving nation as excited about the FIFA World Cup as
they were, being the official major sponsor.

Idea:
Have a Fling with football!
Every 4 years Australians get the opportunity to jump
on the soccer bandwagon. Even famous athletes from other codes are doing it. Just look at Wendell Sailor (Rugby), Luke Hodge (AFL) and Damien Flemming (Cricket). As an added incentive, Hyundai also threw in the chance for lucky
fans to win cars along the way

Activations:
Events were held in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane,
where fans could have thier fling with football while rubbing shoulders with superstars from other codes.

Brisbane Event
We took over the home of Brisbane Ruby league,
the Caxton Hotel in Paddington, much to the shock of locals. Sacred Queensland Rugby memorabilia was swapped out for Socceroos merchandise, while  sports stars and staff were kitted to form a sea of green and gold, not a maroon stuuby holder in sight!

Sydney Event
Sydney fans came together on a chilly night at the
famous North Sydney Olympic pool to have their fling with football. Former Socceroos and sporting legends from other codes came together in a sea of fleecy-lined green and gold to support Australia as they took on Denmark.

Melbourne Event
We created a star-studded event opposite Marvel stadium,
in the heart of the AFL land. After a Carlton  match, we hijacked die-hard fans as they left the stadium and invited them to come and have a fling with football at another
venue acorss the road. The plan worked. Fans happily swapped their Carlton blues for Socceroos kit, joined
sporting legends from other codes on the gold carpet, including their beloved Carlton, and had ball.
